COACHING EXPERIENCE
Shaun has been involved in coaching youth sports since the late 90s. He has been a Memorial City Makos Hockey Coach since 2021. He has also been a multi-sport coach for youth recreational soccer, baseball, t-ball, softball and flag football with Timbergrove Sports Association and the YMCA from 2015 through 2025. He has completed SafeSport and Positive Coaching Alliance courses.
PLAYING EXPERIENCE
Shaun played house Novice, Atom and PeeWee hockey in Kirkland, Quebec and Medicine Hat, Alberta from 1983 to 1989. He played Bantam AA from 1989 – 1991 with the Hat Tank Oil Kings and from 1991 – 1993 he played Midget A with Redcliff Nova Cor. He continues to play in men’s leagues/tournaments and has been the long-time captain of his Sunday team.

COACHING PHILOSOPHY
The most important things about hockey are the lessons it teaches – hard work, teamwork, competitiveness, leadership, respect, and self-belief. We will learn to both win and lose with grace. These are the foundations of success that I hope all players take with them into their adult lives.
