Tryout Information
Registration & Schedule:
Registration for 2026-27 tryouts will open mid-late May, and a finalized schedule will be posted on this page once available.
Teams and USAH Age Classifications for the 2026-27 Season:
Our Association is committed to fielding teams at each of the below USAH age classifications where Houston youth player numbers, skill, and commitment levels support travel hockey team expectations. The number of teams at each age group will be determined by tryout numbers.
- 10U - 2016 & 2017
- 12U - 2014 & 2015
- 14U - 2012 & 2013
- 16U - 2010 & 2011
- 18U - 2008 & 2009
NOTE: 2018 birth year players (Major 8U) trying out for Association teams are encouraged to be familiar with the TAHA Mite ADM Policy, located on page 24 of the TAHA Guidebook/Rulebook. 2019 birth year players, and younger, are not eligible for tryouts.
ABSENCES: Absences will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Those wishing to be considered for a 2026-27 Houston Junior Aeros team but who are unable to attend tryouts as scheduled MUST:
- register and pay for tryouts using this online registration.
- contact the Houston Junior Aeros President, Mike Zeibaq, to advise of the Player’s absence.
Player Agreement and Commitment
Rosters will be posted online approximately 60 minutes after the final tryout session for each team. Go to the Roster Announcement button on the homepage.
To accept your offer:
- go to your player's profile in your Crossbar account or click on the link sent to your email
- complete all forms and pay your $500 commitment fee.
The Commitment/Signing Room will be available for families who must complete the process on-site. The following players must report to the Commitment Room immediately after rosters are posted:
- All new-to-the-association players
- All foreign players (new and returning)
All other players may complete the online commitment process remotely by 6:00 PM on June 7 or June 14, as applicable.
Players and parents should be prepared to accept or decline a roster offer within the required timeframe. Failure to complete the commitment process by the deadline will be considered a forfeiture of the roster spot, which may then be offered to another player.
Apparel
All players announced to rosters are to report to apparel try-ons as per the above schedule.
As we near tryouts, please watch for our live ‘Apparel’ page for updated team and association apparel requirements and costs.
NOTE that the apparel order deadline for ALL teams will be Sun/June 15 so please plan for time in your schedule to ensure your player's completed order meets that deadline.
Out-of-Community Waiver Process
Players interested in trying out for a team outside of their community must follow the Out-of-Community waiver process outlined in this document.

2026-27 Financial Disclosure Information
In accordance with TAHA policy, the Houston Junior Aeros' 2025-26 Financial Disclosure is to be posted to our Programs and Fees page one week before tryouts.
2026-2027 Tryouts
Registration opens Tuesday, May 19.
Online registrations will close/re-open as follows:
June 6-7 tryouts will close at 9:00 PM Friday, June 5. 10U-12U Tryouts have concluded.
June 13-14 tryouts will re-open following the first weekend of tryouts and close at 9:00 PM Friday, June 12.
Walk-up/day of or offline registration fees: Additional $20 (cash or check only).
No prorated fees. No refunds.
Players must bring full gear, water and their own jersey. Pinnies will be issued at check-in and must be returned at the end of tryouts.
Players will need a 2026-2027 USA Hockey number to register.
